Hello.png

I’m Kristen Oaxaca—marathoner, philanthropist, dog mom of two, and Owner & Lead Designer of Audacity Graphic Design.

Growing up as the youngest of three girls, I was known as the quiet one—the shy sister who spent most of her first few years attached to her mom's leg. No one would have expected that I'd be the one to become her own bossusing billboards, menus, software, and car wraps to show the world just what she has to offer.

Audacity Graphic Design is built on the expertise I’ve gained over 13 years as a professional designer. I started my career as an unpaid intern, fresh out of college. Within two weeks, the advertising agency I was interning for saw my value and started paying me. By year 3, not only was I a senior level designer, I was the only designer on staff.

Looking for a change, I joined a local company as the first graphic designer on their marketing team. I took their inconsistent aesthetic and molded it into a single cohesive brand with comprehensive guidelines that became the long-term foundation for that company's forward-facing messaging. While there, I expanded my skill set to include software design—"Come try software," they said, "It'll be fun," they said. And they were right!

Making the decision to leave a steady job in the middle of a pandemic to start my own business was tough, but I knew it was something I needed to do. I had more to offer the world, and I was going to do it with Audacity.

For me, design isn't just about making things pretty—it's about understanding how elements work together to tell a story. YOUR story.

If you happen to catch me when I'm not designing my heart out, I'm more than likely running a ridiculously long distance at an ungodly hour of the morning. If I don't have my running shoes on, I'm probably raising money for CMT, sipping margs with the girls, or spending time with my pups.
